Greg brings over 20 years of executive management, marketing, and engineering experience in the semiconductor industry. His career has focused on communications equipment applications and the utilization of leading edge technologies to drive broad based market transitions.
Greg joined Luxtera in late 2007 to drive the commercialization of the company’s Silicon Photonics technology. He has raised over $200M in venture and industry funding. He has successful led the company through maturation of the revolutionary new technology platform introducing the world’s first Silicon Photonics commercial product in 2008, now having produced over 1Mu. With the introduction of market leading 100G products he has scaled the business to profitability and CFBE.
Prior to joining Luxtera, most recently he was Vice President and General Manager of the High Speed Ethernet Controller business unit at Broadcom. While there, Greg led the growth of the Ethernet Controller business unit from concept to over $350M in revenue and the number one market share position.
Prior to joining Broadcom, Greg was with Intel where he held several engineering, marketing, and business leadership positions in the networking and video business units. His most notable accomplishment was leading the growth of the 10/100 Ethernet Controller semiconductor business from $50M to $200M+ in revenue and number one market share position in under 3 years.
Greg started his career as an inventor / entrepreneur in the early 90’s after attending San Diego State University with a focus in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. He currently resides in San Diego with his wife of 16 years and four children.
Séamus Daly is responsible for Luxtera’s product and supply chain operations.
Séamus has over 25 years experience in the high volume electronics manufacturing and service industry. Most recently he was General Manager of Global Platform Solutions, a division within Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group responsible for all aspects of boards and systems manufacturing form NPI through to sustaining. Across his 14 years at Intel Séamus has led organizations to achieve outstanding results,winning several of the company’s highest recognition awards. Prior to joining Intel he worked for Apple Computer Inc, in Ireland where he was responsible for module manufacturing process development, including product and business quality. His earlier years in the industry were spent with LM. Ericsson as a Quality Engineer.
Séamus is a graduate of the University of Limerick, Ireland, where he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics in 1983.
From 1991 to 1995 he was employed by IMEC, Belgium working on various projects including short reach optical interconnect and heterogeneous integration of III-V lasers with Si and polymer waveguides. From 1995 to 1999, he was with Akzo-Nobel N.V., The Netherlands and U.S., where he was engaged in product development and reliability of polymer-based thermo-optic waveguide switch devices. In 1999, he joined OMM Inc., San Diego, CA, where he was responsible for product and technology development of MEMS-based optical switches. His latest position there was CTO and Director of Product Engineering and Reliability. In 2004, he joined Luxtera, Inc., Carlsbad, CA, where he is currently responsible for technology development for silicon photonics.
Peter received his Ph.D. in Integrated Optics from the University of Gent, Belgium.
Joseph was most recently a founder of Uplay, LLC, which was acquired by Callaway Golf. He also held various engineering management roles at Broadcom and served as the vice president of engineering at AppliedMicro.
Joseph received an MS and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
Ron attended The University of Texas at San Antonio for both his BSEE (1986) and MSEE (1993) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude, respectively. His Master’s thesis topic entitled “Synthetic Vision Landing Aids System” was patented as the first GPS-based aircraft landing aid. From 1986 to 1994 Ron worked at Southwest Research Institute as a Sr. Research Engineer in its Avionics Division where his job was to develop and test flight instrumentation for commercial and military aircraft. From 1994 to 1999, Ron worked at Compaq Computer as a Sr. Design Engineer and Program Manager in its Workstation division.While at Compaq, he earned 15 patent awards. In 1999, Ron left Compaq to work at AMD where he was responsible for managing the platform engineering team developing platform reference designs to support microprocessor sales. In 2001, he joined Broadcom Corporation where he managed Field Applications Engineering for the Compute Segment team, ran Program Management in the Networking BU, and was a Sr. Director of Sales and Strategic Account Manager covering the Hewlett Packard worldwide account. In 2011 Ron came to Luxtera where he has worked as Vice President of Sales before moving into his current role as Vice President of Marketing.
Brad comes to Luxtera with over 25 years of experience in industry leading communications semiconductor companies and an impressive track record of scaling sales organizations while creating and executing high growth plans and delivering solid results.
Prior to joining Luxtera, Byk served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Skyworks Solutions Inc., where he led the company to new markets and significant sales growth ($1.1 billion to $2.4 billion over four years). Previously, Byk served 13 years at Broadcom, most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas and Strategic Accounts with responsibility for over $3 billion in annual revenue. Prior to this, he held various sales and management positions throughout his career at Advanced Micro Devices, FEI Microwave and TRW. Byk received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Long Beach State University and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California.
