Séamus Daly Named Vice President of Operations for Luxtera
Former General Manager of Intels Technology and Manufacturing Group/Global Platform Solutions chosen to lead rapid expansion of operations
Carlsbad, Calif. – January 19, 2010 – Luxtera Inc., the world leader in Silicon CMOS Photonic solutions, today announced the appointment of Séamus Daly to Vice President of Operations. In addition to 25+ years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, Mr. Daly brings to the company a strong background in business operations and a proven ability to mobilize people/organizations to achieve breakthrough results. His proven background in building high performance teams and track level of successful execution, correlates with Luxtera’s continued growth and expansion in the industry.
Mr. Daly spent the last 14 years in leadership positions at Intel Corporation, most recently holding a senior position as General Manager of Global Platform Solutions, part of Intel’s world renowned Technology and Manufacturing Group. The primary responsibility of his group included integration of its high volume manufacturing expertise to support the company’s growth strategies, New Product Introduction (NPI) management to volume production including: test, manufacturing, materials, quality, and outsource management spanning from high volume/low mix, to low volume/high mix- covering a wide range of product platforms. Prior to Intel, Mr. Daly spent over 9 years in various positions at Apple Computer, Inc. in Ireland, where he was responsible for module manufacturing process development, including product and business quality. With a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Limerick in Ireland, Mr. Daly spent the beginning part of his career as a Quality Engineer at Bio-Medical Research and a Senior Quality Engineer at LM Ericsson.
