Luxtera Expands Top Management Team with New VPs of Marketing and Sales
Executives join during period of expansion to drive world-wide product introduction

Carlsbad, Calif., May 3, 2006 – Luxtera, Inc., a fabless semiconductor and silicon photonics company, today announced the addition of two senior executives to its management team, filling new strategic roles within the organization. Marek Tlalka joins Luxtera as Vice President of Marketing and James Perrott joins as Vice President of Sales. The two men enter the company as it transitions from its research and development phase to the launch of its flagship commercial products.

Tlalka joins Luxtera from Ample Communications where he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales responsible for the strategic direction of the company’s marketing initiatives, sales, and product management. While there, he was instrumental in positioning the company as a leader in Ethernet aggregation semiconductors, resulting in a penetration of key customers world-wide and achieving a leading market share in the Ethernet MAC space. He established marketing and applications engineering organizations, as well as an internal sales force and a network of sales representatives and distributors worldwide. Prior to Ample, he held senior positions at Mindspeed, Conexant Systems, Applied Digital Access and AG Communication Systems.

Perrott comes to Luxtera from Solarflare Communications, Inc. where he was Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Prior to that, he was responsible for an international sales team of more than 60 people for Applied Micro Circuits Corporation and more than $200 million in revenue. He has close to two decades of integrated circuit sales and business leadership experience including sales and distribution channel development, establishing strategic customer partnerships and product introduction to customers world-wide. Perrott has also held senior management positions at Generac Power Systems and Chip Supply, Inc.
